Here in New Jersey, we have a lot of coastline to enjoy. Along the beaches, large and small clamshells adorn the sand like jewels. It's always fun to collect them, and many who live or visit our shores have baskets full of them. The Facebook group Jersey Shore Shells allows us to share our extra shells. We paint, color, glue, and decorate them in every way possible. Then, we leave our treasures out in random places for others to discover and keep or rehide again.
I've included one of mine that I recently finished painting. I have it near the front door, ready to be placed when I am in one of our local parks. I like to think of who might find it and take it home to keep.

That is gorgeous and I love the design :-D Such a good idea :-D
ReplyDeleteIt is a fun activity. People all over my state, and even beyond, paint the shells, mainly common clams, and then place them all over the world. Sometimes when they are found the person finding them will post a photo of them on Facebook.
