The week has been cold, frigid, really, and the animals are staying in their dens and roosting places. When we walked mid-afternoon, the only other brave souls were a small flock of vultures. The barren winter landscape is like a photo filter, and my camera captures the bleakness of the landscape and the dreary sky behind the silhouetted trees. This post is part of Saturday Critters. Thanks to the host Viewing Nature with Eileen.
nice captures!! i had turkey buzzards on my back fence this week. but it is cold and frigid here too and i did not go out and take pictures!!
ReplyDeleteToday, Monday, is a world away from the frigidity of the past few weeks. It actually feels like Spring really might arrive in a few weeks. It's a welcome change.
DeleteThey are strong and seem to do well in all weather. Neat photos!
ReplyDeleteThanks, they are not pretty, but they are resilient.
DeleteGreat captures of the vultures. I've been seeing lots of them around here, they like soaring in the wind.
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.
What they don't have in good looks they sure do make up for in the way they can float on the breeze. They fly like angels.
DeleteBeautifully captured the winter bleakness.
ReplyDeleteThank you. The photos look filtered, but it actually is how dreary and colorless this winter has been.
DeleteGreat shots :-D
ReplyDeleteHello :)
ReplyDeleteGood captures of the vultures. It does look cold and bleak in your photos: We don't see vultures here, just Buzzards.
Well, I might be wrong calling them vultures, because I know quite a few people call them turkey 'buzzards.' I'm not sure what the exact name is for them. I call them both names at times but usually go with vultures.
