Greeting New Arrivals
The Sepia Saturday photograph is of my parents. In the very early 1960s, my father pastored a small church in Clinton, Pennsylvania. I like how they are standing in front of the church, it seems like a welcoming pose. Nearby was an outdoor camp meeting with a large tabernacle. At least, it seemed large to me as a child.
Thank you to Sepia Saturday for hosting this challenge.
The photograph is a part of the Birch Run cover. Tips and techniques for self-publishing and marketing a book can be found throughout the blog posts. Links can be found in the most recent post: The Bucket List-So You Want to Write a Book.
If the church sign was out of the photo frame, I would think your folks were standing outside their home. Which I suppose they were in a way. Welcome to Sepia Saturday. I checked out your Bucket List post on publishing a book as I have been working on a book based on stories in my blog, I'm also a fanatic eBook reader now on my third Kindle. I look forward to reading more about your publishing experience.
ReplyDeleteHi Mike, thanks for the kind words. I try to publish at least once a week about the joys and pitfalls of doing it all myself. I hope to have another post in the series in the next few days.
DeleteWonderful memory and wonderful photo :-D
ReplyDeleteThanks Ananka.
DeleteLovely photo of your folks posing with the church sign that reads "The only way to have a friend is to be one." That's our spirit here on Sepia Saturday, so welcome! I also plan to check out your book -- I'm compiling some of my blog posts into a family history book, so it should be helpful.
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed the process, although there have been some times I have wanted to chuck it all in the trash. I'm so glad I perservered.
DeleteSorry persevered...missed that extra r.
