A few macro photos of late season butterflies. A small Skipper was one of two types I spied in the yard today. All the large butterflies have disappeared.
I took two macros from different angles of a beautiful Cabbage White butterfly. Although their caterpillars can be very destructive on cruciferous vegetables and other garden plants, they are the first to arrive in the Spring and the last to disappear in the Autumn. I appreciate their pristine beauty. The detail of the these lovely insects (critters) amazes me.
These photos are part of Critter Saturday. Thanks to the host Viewing Nature with Eileen.
Lovely captures of the Skipper and Cabbage White. I am seeing a few butterflies but most are gone now.

Thank you for hosting. Today we were surprised to see two Monarchs at two different locations. We haven't seen many this year and have been worried their numbers are declining.
DeleteGreat captures.
ReplyDeleteThank so much.
DeleteThese are great photos :-D
ReplyDeleteThank you. They look magical to me when I take close-ups. You can see all the little details you don't notice when they are flitting by so fast.
